Do I need insurance for a pleasure craft vessel? |

Just as you would need insurance for a summer car that is driven for pleasure, you also need insurance for a pleasure craft vessel, no matter the size. It protects you in case of incident or accident. It is also the law in BC (effective September 2009) to have a Pleasure Craft Operators Card, which is a requirement for insurance coverage. I am a recreational fisherman. Do I need to purchase commercial insurance coverage? |

In almost all cases, a recreational or sport fisherman requires a license to fish and pleasure craft insurance for the boat. Do I need a boat survey to obtain insurance? |

If your boat is older than 15 years, we may require a survey to insure your boat. However, it is different for each boat, based on age and condition. Call or email with the details of your boat, and we would be happy to provide you with answers. |

Doesn’t my homeowners insurance protect my boat? |

The insured coverage for your boat, offered through a home insurance policy, is limited and it does not cover critical marine related risks. The best way to insure your vessel and yourself is to have a boat insurance policy. |
